Debbie Rochon, Zeppo, and praying in a comic book store
In this episode of Spandex and Monster, we focus on international cult icon, Debbie Rochon. Fans of Spandex and Monster will know Debbie by her countless movie appearances in Troma, science fiction, and horror films. I recently caught one of her roles in the awesome Tom Savani directed segment for The Theater Bizarre (old school european horror film).
Debbie wears many hats from producing to directing as well starring in many films and projects. Recently she is sharing the mic with metal rocker Dee Snider for an international radio show on the Sirius network...now XM network.
She recently wrapped up filming an Italian film with fellow actress Tiffany Sheppis. You can also catch her work in Fangoria magazine. I think she is the hardest working actress out there, and the fans, awards, and praise she has gotten is definitely well earned.

Zeppo: Sinners from beyond the moon
I had the awesome privilege of working with Debbie on my crazy science fiction comedy, 'Zeppo: Sinners from beyond the moon'. When master producer/editor Eric Butts began producing the film, it soon became a crazy, surreal affair and we needed someone who could rule the galaxy..of course, everyone wants Debbie Rochon to rule the galaxy...case closed! Having her as the beautiful and evil Empress Molly was one of the highlights of the film for me, along with working with Troma's Lloyd Kaufman. It took a lot of work and we finished the film with hardworking indie folks like Stacey Gillespie, Pat Bowling, Schaffer Tolliver, Billy Blackwell, and of course Casey Miracle who was the backbone of the film along with John and Patsy Butts. I think Eric Butts still has post production thumbscrew scars from that film (I guess I'm still a sadist! ha ha!).
Somewhere Empress Molly is ruling the galaxy with a firm hand...and the population loves it!
Praying in a comic book shop
Eric and I shot a segment of Zeppo at Lexington's A+ comics. Not only was the owner Russ Bataglia a good sport for letting madmen into his business, he got into a scene in the final film berating Pat Bowling (Eric Butts) for getting weird with a comic book. I recently saw the new shop, and admiring it I found out that the new location of A+ comics also doubles for a church on sundays, evidently according to Diamond distribution, its the only comic book store in the country that has church services in it...so if you're in Lexington, Kentucky...check out the new comics smell, grab a game, channel Zeppo, and or feel the powerful vibe of prayer!
